UIL Marching Contest: Superior, Division I
4 of 17 bands received a Division I rating
UIL Concert (Symphonic Band): Superior, Division I
UIL Sight Reading (Symphonic Band): Superior, Division I
The Trinity High School Band was awarded their Second UIL Sweepstakes
January of 1972; The Trinity HS Symphonic Band, representing The United States,
was invited to Mexico by the Department of Cultural Exchange. Three concerts were
presented in Monterrey, Mexico as well as one concert in route at Three Rivers High
School, Three Rivers, Texas
February 12, 1972; The Trinity HS Symphonic Band was selected as the reading band
for the State TMEA Convention's Sight Reading Clinic, in Ft. Worth. The band read six
new compositions with six conductors. For the clinic's finale, the T.H.S. band was featured
in concert: "Salvation Army March" (Sousa), "Russian Easter Overture" (Rimsky-Korsakov)
and "The Matador" (A. Young).
