UIL Marching Contest: Superior, Division I
UIL Concert (Symphonic Band): Excellent, Division II
UIL Sight Reading (Symphonic Band): Superior, Division I

The majority of the band students this school year were 9th graders and had no
marching experience at all, in fact they had no UIL experience. Since the school
construction was not finished, the band had to rehearse in the weight room which
had terrible acoustics. The parking lot was completed a few weeks before the UIL
Marching Contest. Mr. Reavis had the parking lot painted with five yard marker
lines and the band only had 3 weeks to learn to march and prepare for the contest.
Trinity's first year band class had many obstacles to face ranging from no band hall,
no practice field to march on and overall inexperience in the UIL program. My hat is
off to these students and especially Mr. Reavis for the determination and drive required
to attain a Superior, Division I rating and overcome the obstacles they faced this very first year.
Way to go guys!
